Privacy Policy: Screen Conversation Bridge
Screen Conversation Bridge is a browser extension that saves AI chat conversations on your device and lets you bring them into a new chat. This policy explains what the extension stores, what it sends, and why.
Last updated: October 21, 2026
Summary
- Your conversations stay on your device. We never receive conversation text or files.
- When the extension cannot read an AI website’s layout, it can ask our repair service for help. It sends only a description of the page structure (CSS selectors and counts), never what you or the AI wrote.
- The extension does not sell data, show ads, or use analytics or tracking.
Data stored on your device
The extension stores the following in your browser’s local extension storage. It never leaves your device unless you export it yourself.
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Conversations you export (messages, titles, page address, time saved) | Your conversation library |
| Attachment files you choose to save with a conversation (images, PDFs, files) | Re-attaching them when you import the conversation |
| Saved page layout for each site you enable (CSS selectors) | Finding messages and the message box without re-analysing the page |
| A random install ID | Counting your repair quota (see below) |
| Settings, such as whether page actions are shown | Remembering your preferences |
Uninstalling the extension deletes all of this data. You can also delete individual conversations from the sidebar.
Data the extension sends
To AI websites you use
When you export a conversation with attachments and leave Include attachment files turned on, the extension downloads those files from the AI website using your existing session. This is a request from your browser to that website, the same as opening the file yourself. We do not receive these files.
To our repair service
The repair service runs only when you press Repair, when you enable a new site, or when the extension cannot read a page it supports. In those cases the extension sends:
- the website’s host name (for example gemini.google.com) and a provider label,
- a short fingerprint of the page layout (a hash of element types and roles, with no text),
- a list of candidate CSS selectors with numbers about them (how many elements match, average text length, whether they are visible or editable),
- your random install ID.
It does not send message text, file contents, page titles, your account details or cookies. Attribute values that look like free text (such as names or titles) are removed before selectors are built.
To show how many repairs you have left, the extension also sends your install ID to the service.
The service uses this information to:
- choose the right selectors for that site. This uses OpenAI’s API (gpt-4o-mini), which receives the selector list and numbers above, never conversation content;
- keep a shared record of the working selectors for each site layout, so other users of the same site do not need a repair;
- count repairs per install ID (10 per 30 days) and prevent abuse.
Your IP address is used only to limit how many requests can be made per day. It is held in rate-limit counters and is not stored with your repair records.
We keep repair records (install ID, site host, layout fingerprint, outcome and time) to enforce the quota and prevent abuse. To have the records for your install ID deleted, contact us at the address below.
